We had a great turnout at Cory Neighborhood’s first National Night Out event, with about 35 neighbors joining us for refreshing snow cones and a chance to talk with local leaders! It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones, all coming together to strengthen our neighborhood ties.
San Jose Fire Department: We were thrilled to have the San Jose Fire Department join us with a fire engine, giving everyone the chance to learn more about fire safety and explore the equipment up close.
District 4 Supervisor Susan Ellenberg’s Office: Representatives from Susan Ellenberg’s Office attended and engaged with local residents, bringing along some useful safety swag to help keep our community informed and prepared.
Michael Mulcahy: We were also visited by Michael Mulcahy, a candidate for the District 6 City Council. He took the time to meet with folks and talk about our neighborhood.
Kona Ice: Our free Kona Ice was a huge hit, with everyone enjoying a refreshing treat on a warm evening.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this National Night Out a memorable one. Your involvement is what makes our neighborhood such a wonderful place to live!
Hey Neighbors! We’re thrilled to invite you to join us for National Night Out, a special event dedicated to building community connections and promoting neighborhood safety. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 6th at 6:00pm and head on over to the CHC School Parking Lot (2280 Kenwood Avenue)!
The San Jose Crime Prevention Unit will be here along with local community leaders. Come learn more about how we can all work together to keep our neighborhood safe and welcoming.
Cool off with a delicious Kona Ice! We’re giving away free cups for the first 90 guests, so be sure to arrive early and grab yours.
Worker cooperatives are not new, but unknown to many. Rep. Ro Khanna is recognizing and prioritizing the role worker cooperatives play in our country with a federal bill focused on them.
Please join the celebration. Date: Monday, March 18, 2024 Time: 3:00pm Location: A Slice of New York, 3443 Stevens Creek Blvd., San Jose, CA 95117
There will be snacks (yeah, pizza will be there)! Some of the local co-ops might bring some goodies to share. Either way, there will be some serious celebrating. A line-up of worker-owners, co-op professionals, local elected leaders, and of course Rep. Ro Khanna will speak about the bill and share real-world stories.
Park on the street or in the neighborhood on Tyler, Cecil, or Cypress. It is a short walk to the pizza shop. This is a landmark event that I hope you will be part of!
If you want to stay informed on the progress of this bill, please sign-up here.
Transparency disclosure: This is a event with Congressman Ro Khanna hosted at A Slice of New York.
