Good news, the General Meeting is BACK in our usual spot. The Rising Star Academy has moved into the school at 2280 Kenwood Avenue and is happy for us to host our general meetings there!

Upcoming Events

National Night Out – A nationwide event held on Tuesday, August 4,
to mingle with the police and firemen of San Jose. It starts at 6:30
PM in the school parking lot. Food, drinks and games for all.

Dumpster Day – We are planning a dumpster day in October. Usually
it’s the third or fourth Saturday of the month. Once we get it nailed
down, the association will let you know.

Holiday Showcase Judges – Would you like to be a judge for our
decoration contest in December? Contact us on our website and
we’ll email you all the specifics. There’s two areas that are judged:
best decorated house and best decorated tree. It’s that easy. We are
also looking for a photographer, if you would rather do that.

Christmas Trees Fundraiser – As you probably know, the
Association buys Christmas trees at a volume discount so that you
can get a great tree at a low price. The order form will come out at the
next general meeting. The best thing about it is that you can buy
more than one tree. Also, we are always looking for people who have
a truck and would like to volunteer to deliver trees.

Next General Meeting – Our next general meeting will be on
Monday, October 26th, starting at 6:30 PM, (doors open at 6 PM).
You’ll get a flyer a week or two before the meeting.

Free compost and mulch giveaway at Emma Prusch Farm Park on August 1

San José Environmental Services is hosting a free compost and mulch giveaway on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon, or while supplies last, at Emma Prusch Farm Park.

Use the entrance at 1044 Knox Ave. If you want to stop by the Gardening Resource Fair at 10 a.m., use the free parking at 647 S. King Rd.

The event is part of Veggielution’s 1st Saturday series and is meant to help residents with gardening resources, water efficiency programs, and local food security information. More recycling and composting guidance is available from SanJoseRecycles.org and SJEnvironment.org/compost.

We Want Your Questions for Santana Row (July 27th Meeting)

Our next General Meeting is coming up soon (Mon, July 27 – 6:30pm) and Santana Row (Federal Realty) is once again hosting our food, but also speaking at our event. This is your opportunity to provide questions or topics you would like to hear about. Here are some of the things we are asking them to talk about:

  1. Please share parking strategy, challenges, and areas of improvement. Please include discussion on holiday circulation, and any statistics you may have (how many visits over the holiday, any changes you may make going forward, lessons learned, etc.).
  2. What are some major projects planned for the next 12-24 months, including expansions (i.e. new health club)?
  3. Are there planned road improvements? Please briefly touch on the off-ramp impact and timeline if you can.
  4. There were a couple safety issues of the past year. Can you comment on that and how things have changed because of that?
  5. What events are planned for the rest of the year?
  6. Which new businesses or restaurants are expected to open?
  7. What are some new businesses/eateries that opened (I.e. donut shop, gelato place)
  8. How does Santana Row decide which new businesses/restaurants to bring in?

Join Us Tomorrow for San José’s Rose, White & Blue Parade!

Looking for a fun way to celebrate the Fourth of July? Join us tomorrow morning, Saturday, July 4, for the Rose, White & Blue Parade and Festival!

This free, family-friendly San José tradition brings neighbors together for a colorful celebration of our city’s many cultures. Expect classic cars, bands, dancers, community groups, decorated bikes and wagons, and plenty of red, white, and blue.

After the parade, stay for an afternoon festival featuring lucha libre, live entertainment, a creative kids’ zone, face painting, games, local vendors, and food trucks.

Tomorrow’s schedule

  • Car cruise: 9:45 am
  • Parade: 10:00 am – noon
  • Festival: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

The parade begins near Lincoln High School and travels along Dana Avenue, Naglee Avenue, and The Alameda. The festival takes place at Shasta Avenue and The Alameda. Head out early to setup your chairs to get the best view.

Bring the family and come enjoy!
