There is police activity around Cory neighborhood including police helicopters noticed on Forest and Winchester due to an increase of many groups of visitors strolling and driving around the area, not sure if they are protestors or if there is something going on at Valley Fair mall. Please be safe and post any updates to this thread to help neighbors stay safe.
Effective today: City of San José implements citywide curfew from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for the next 7 days (or until further notice). I’m joined by City Manager Dave Sykes and SJPD Chief Eddie Garcia to offer more information for our community.
From Diana Alanis, Assistant to San Jose City Councilmember Dev Davis:
I spoke to a staff member in charge of Dumpster Days in the city. Unfortunately this service has been put on hold during the shelter-in place order. The program’s employees have been reassigned to priority items during the pandemic. Staff in charge of the program are working to continue Dumpster Days in a way that ensures staff and volunteer safety. Until then, we have to postpone Cory Dumpster Day in June. Our office knows the importance of the program and is working with staff to get these services up and running. I will keep you updated.
The event has not yet been rescheduled. Check back for updates.
From KQED’s Matthew Green:
The locations listed in the map below are community testing sites in the nine-county Bay Area that don’t require referrals, membership or insurance (although some sites will bill the insurance providers of patients who have coverage).
